The babes seem to be entertaining themselves while we unpack…

After Nester and Kimba give me some decorating tips, I’ll post more pics! :)

Winners and an Ad Network – Need Your Thoughts
November 3, 2009
First things first…winners…
The 2nd winner of the Shade clothing $25 gift card is…
The winner of the Vintage Pearl $50 gift certificate is...Christie, from Divine Calling!
Email me please with “winner” in the subject line. :)
Now, I need your advice/thoughts…
I am thinking about joining a new ad network, but I want your thoughts as my readers. The ad would be one of those big long ones on the sidebar – it would be the first thing you see…the welcome would go below it.
I am having a hard time deciding. I like the idea of some extra bucks, plus the ad network is going to be very exclusive, which does give my blog more credibility when it comes to leveraging more opportunities. Those are the upsides…the downsides are that it is a big ad that takes away some of the pretty on my blog. Big ads can also be kind of obnoxious looking.
Even though I would still write whether I had a significant readership or not, I know I wouldn’t have the ability to make any money on ads if it weren’t for your continued support, so your thoughts matter to me.
Yay or nay on the ad network?

It Feels So…Weird
October 22, 2009

I had 7 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night.
Whoa.
7 1/2!!!!
I can’t remember the last time that happened.
I feel so…weird…refreshed…surprisingly non-grumpy.
{I think I hear angels singing somewhere}
And yes, I think making you privy to this glorious news is post worthy.
Hello!
7 1/2 hours!
I don’t even feel like I need coffee.
But I’m going to have some, because that’s how I roll.
Have an eyes wide open day! (I think I actually might!)

Ooh, on another note, my friend Amber is hosting a sister party today with a link-up – check it out!

You want one, don’t you? Or perhaps you’d like one for someone you know…maybe a Christmas gift?
Erin, one of my coffee supporting sponsors and the maker of these lovely charms, has offered a $50 gift certificate to her boutique, The Vintage Pearl, to one of my readers (you all are so special!).
You know why I like The Vintage Pearl so much? Besides the fact that her jewelry is just plain classy and endearing, it’s because Erin is a stay-at-home mom of four who makes these simple and beautiful handstamped jewelry pieces right out of her home. Let’s support her cottage industry.
Now on to the giveaway…
To enter, you must:
- Visit The Vintage Pearl and then leave a comment here and tell me what you would get with your $50
Additional Entries (leave a separate comment for each)
- Tweet, Post and/or Facebook this giveaway
- Subscribe to Like a Warm Cup of Coffee
Contest open until next Tuesday, open to U.S. residents only.

I Miss Pumpkin Pie
October 16, 2009

I have gotten so caught up in social media that I have neglected the important things in life, such as…
Pumpkin pie
Bubble baths
Reading a good book
Long reading times with my children
A rested mind
A rested body
Significant time in the Word
Praying
Being a keeper at home in the full sense, not just the “I’m here” sense
Engaging in the little details of life
Home educating
Self-discipline
The list could go on and on, sad to say.
Some things are going to have to change…going to have to give.
Because I think I’m addicted to my computer. Blech.

My FTC Disclosure (And How To Make Your Own)
October 6, 2009

Here is my FTC disclosure…ready?
I will never write a review or take money for an ad from a company that I do not sincerely like. If I do accept compensation, it is because, and only because, I would have written about them anyway (shhh…don’t tell my sponsors that!). :)
Oh, and if someone sends me something to review and I don’t like it, instead of writing a bad review, I send the product back and don’t post it at all.
There you have it, my disclosure.
The FTC probably wants something more clear though, so very soon you will see in my header a new “disclosure” link. That one will be all official.
If you want a disclosure policy for your blog, check out Disclosurepolicy.org – you answer around four questions and they make it for you in about 5 seconds – for free! Easy!

Behind The Scenes – Want To Write For Like a Warm Cup of Coffee?
October 6, 2009

It’s kind of like maternity leave.
Except I’m not pregnant.
There is much going on behind the scenes lately, such as…WE ARE SELLING OUR HOUSE! Oh yes my friends, we have spur-of-the-moment decided to put our house on the market…this week. We are busy busy busy getting it ready. The other “behind-the-scenes” happening is that I, along with Jessica and Dana, are working very hard at bringing you a unique blogging conference that we are simply over the moon excited about and can’t wait until we can share more. Oh, and my husband and I are launching a media company to be the umbrella company over the conference. So yea, that too.
You might say I’m kind of busy {ahem}.
Which leads me to the whole “maternity leave” thing. I don’t want to leave my sweet blog in the dust during this crazy time, so I was wondering if any of you fine readers would like a stab at writing for my blog?
If you’re interested, please email me with your topic idea and favorite dessert.
I think I’m craving something sweet.
But no, I’m not pregnant.
