“She Gets That From You”
So often when we see “weaknesses” in our children we say to our spouse, “she gets that from you!” We smile, or roll our eyes, but I’m wondering…
How often do we point out a strength and say,
“she gets that from you.”
Find that strength today…and give your spouse a great big dose of blessing in it.

I love this! Just last night I had the opportunity to praise both my daughter’s as they have shown some of their father’s strengths while preparing for life beyond High School. What a blessing we can give to both our spouses and our children when we point out the blessings they’ve inherited.

Wait, you mean I shouldn’t take credit for the good? Thanks for the reminder ;)
How sweet is this. We’re always saying “she gets that from you” to each other – and occsaionally it’s the “good” stuff. lol Of course, sometimes its a matter of perspective. My cheerleader personality in my 4 year old can come across as ditzy to others, so we take it with a grain of salt. My 2 yr old however, has the gracefulness my husband exhibited as a child. Cool stuff, isn’t it?

YEAH, WHEN OURS DO SOMETHING WE DON’T LIKE, WE SAY, “YOUR SON, OR YOUR DAUGHTER…”
THANKS FOR THE GOOD SUGGESTION !

So true. And it’s so much better to focus on the positive traits. Thanks for the reminder.
Such a good point. And it speaks volumes about how much the negative stuff catches our attention and holds it. I notice my husband’s bad habits much more often I notice all the wonderful things about him.. I need to learn to recognize the good qualities in him more often too.
