I’m STILL totally frumptastic (The Get Dressed! Challenge returns!)
…which, let’s be honest, should not have ”‘tastic” attached, because it’s just frump.
(Okay, so this isn’t quite me, but I’m on the fast track to it; I mean, hello! She’s got chocolate!)
Remember awhile ago when many of you brave souls joined in the first Get Dressed! challenge? It was fun, right? And encouraging, and we all felt great! Our husbands loved it, and so did our babes, so let’s do it again! Let’s get dressed and go from frumps to pumps! This go-round we are going to work towards making the “pumps” a habit, so we’re going to need longer than a week. Ready for it? Here it is:
Frumps to pumps! Your one month motivotional to getting dressed and staying that way!
Who’s with me?!
Huh? What? A motivotional? Yep! Part motivation, part devotional – a motivotional! (I think I just coined a term! Someone take a note…)
We’ll begin on Monday! Link-up below if you want to join in, and let’s Get Dressed! (Make sure to link back here so others can join the fun!)

Grab the button code here and spread the word!
On Twitter: #frumpstopumps
P.S. you don’t actually have to wear pumps-just cute shoes ;) (or whatever your hubs likes!)
Would you like to get the motivotionals sent directly to your email? Click here.

I just bought new makeup… perfect timing… dressing my face is something I do maybe a couple times a month!

I am so with you! I'm going to try and paint the barn just a little everyday! ;)
You bet I'm in! Woohoo! {What do I need to link-up? Just my blog or a post about it?!}
Just link your blog! Easy peasy! :)
Posted the challenge on my blog, can't wait to start!
WOOT! Thanks!
I'm scared. But I'm in. :)
Me too!
You are on a roll here! Totally had me laughing. I certainly don't want to be frumptastic! Although it does have a fun ring to it :)
It does, doesn't it? And yet, I'm ready to be pumptastic! Or something like that…
LOL, no thank you!!! I'll stay in my sweats for now. There is no way I'm wearing pumps around the house. :D
Carisa, oh COME ON! :) I love sweats too, and you don't actually have to wear pumps, just cute shoes…or socks… ;)
i want to join, but I dont have a blog to link up. :( how do i do this?
Just read along each day – there will be a motivotional and a small challenge to help you build into the habit of getting dressed each morning. :)
Hmmm…I'll be thinking on this. I'd like to join, but I don't have much for clothes or shoes that I like since I just had a baby and the dog chewed my shoes…If I can get some stuff done, and get a new spiffy pair of shoes (or two!) like I'm hoping, then I'll definitely join in! :)
The real goal isn't to be glamorous, it's to too nice, feel good, and in turn, be more productive. We all have seasons though, and I don't this challenge is necessarily for everyone. I do think you'll enjoy the daily motivotional though. :)
OK, I will joint then…even if all I accomplish is wearing a bra and brushing my hair every day, that will be an improvement! :D
I don't have much for clothes either! I'm a jeans and tshirt kind of gal… the kind that come from WalMart (and usually on sale). If this challenge just gets me up and dressed (who cares if it's not fancy!) at a decent time then I'll be happy!
I've been trying to do well with getting dressed and ready using What I wore Wednesday to stay accountable….I feel so much of our attitude is based on how we look. I'm eager to start this. I'll add the badge to my WIWW post!!!
I work outside the home but sometimes its hard when I'm off of work or even getting the oompah to get beyond the frump to just step outside the door to work. So I'm in!!
Sounds like fun! I'm in! :D
You do realise that the plan was to live in variations of pj's at relevant – right? ;)
I won't tell… ;)
I this is going to be good. As I sit in my sweats {ahem} I am already looking forward to it.
Thanks for the opportunity to link up! :)
It is almost 9:30 in the morning where I leave. My children are working on their school work and here I sit at my computer in my GOWN reading blogs! I need this challenge more then you will ever know. Thank you for posting it:) I couldn't get your button to post in my blog post but I linked up and linked my post to yours so others can join. Can't wait to see what God revels to me during this challenge!
I do get dressed "to shoes" everyday, but I don't take much time to do my hair {read: I don't often brush it before pulling it back into a pony tail}, and sometimes I wait until 10am to get dressed. So some definite work is in order here! :)
So fun, Sarah Mae!
Oh, my… I think I am may join in. Considering…
Wonderful idea! I'm definitely going to give this a shot!

Frumptastic. Hahahahaha! I'm not gonna lie. This girl could use a good "motivational"…and yeah. You totally just coined a hot new term.
I have read your blog from time to time, and I usually like what I read. This however completely discourages me. My husband loves me whether I wear sweatpants every day or not, and in a world where women are constantly trying to compete with each other and compare one another, I feel like this challenge is not edifying to the body of Christ. I mean no disrespect, but I am just baffled.
Amanda, I think you should re-read what is written above.
She says "It was fun, right? And encouraging, and we all felt great! Our husbands loved it, and so did our babes, so let’s do it again! "
She is no way implying that your husband won't love you if you don't do this. She just said when they did the challenge that their husbands liked it. Of course they would! What man wouldn't love to see his wife dolled up once in awhile.
It also isn't comparing one woman to another…
This to me is more of a get motivated to do things and feel better about yourself! I know for me, I have a chronic illness and it is easy for me to not get dressed for days and days in a row. It takes a lot of effort on my part. But when I do it, I feel better and get more done.
ROFL! That's what that picture did for me:D ! Girl, you are soo funny! But seriously…you couldn't look frump if you tried. Even with a funny shower cap on. (Now I dare ya to show us a picture of you in one:) Hee..hee
I'm in as since pumps are not required! :)
Hi I just found your blog off of The Modest Mom blog and I am loving it!!! I will definitely be dressing a little better. I think we definitely let ourselves get lost in the whirlwind of home, kids, husband. It is time to reprioritize things. I am in for sure but I warn you I do not do pumps. I could do a really cute pair of flats. lol Thanks Samantha
My DeFrumpin' Friends are definitely in! This is exactly the kinds of fun stuff we talk about over at http://www.defrumpme.com. Thanks, Sarah Mae!
I'm not sure I can survive an entire month without a single pajama day, but I love the word motivotional so much I feel compelled to try.
Awesome idea! Looking forward to it!
Looking forward to this series! It sounds terrific. And we'd love some ideas. http://www.theinspiredbudget.com/index.php/second…
Thank you for making me feel better about myself. I do "get ready" for the day and often feel guilty about that. It does give me energy to be dressed in more than PJs. You have lifted my guilt in doing that.
I'm totally in!
I guess I'm mostly mystified with this… as a mama of little ones + working from home, and passionate about hospitality, I couldn't imagine going around in my nightwear. It baffles me to consider not getting dressed. I suppose it's a good challenge if people really aren't getting dressed- eek!

Ooo, I’m so gonna do this! Perfect timing as my husband comes home next Saturday after having been away for 2.5 months and I have to go back to work the following Monday. Very excited about this! :)

I just found your challenge from HeyDonna.com and I am in! I have a little issue with the fact that my week is full of cheer practices and a Zumba class I start this week – lets see how I can get dressed and still be dressed for a workout?!
Okay Ladies, I am in…but I looked at some posts from last year and was disappointed that "sweats" are not considered being dressed…since that would be a step up for me! Thank you Sarah Mae for reminding me about Grace…so I will move forward with baby steps…out of my rags and into my most respectable sweats! Hugs to you…I am so glad I found you. :) Bless you….
Great idea. I'm focusing on the 'staying dressed' part because that is the challenge for me. I'm often in my comfies before my husband gets home.
What a great idea. I had defrumped over the summer, but now it's too chilly to wear my not so frumpy clothes, so I'm not very motivated. Now, consider me motivated!
I would love almost any of their skirts or tops… I like the skirts with the "ballet" themes like arabesque and several others and I love the tops with the sequins or roses or ruffles… I like pinks, whites, grays, blacks or blues…I was just happy to have discovered the site of Down East as the clothes are so "me" and yet quite reasonable in price !!! I am the mom on two teenagers and one is in college. There isn't much money for me to be "non-frumpy" and I have silvery gray hair, which I love, but although God calls it a "crown of splendor" in Proverbs the world thinks otherwise. Down East clothes would be very non-frumpy yet not look ridiculous with my silver hair. And I would like to feel more like the young ballerina I once was…I think far too many people no longer care how they look… yet for Christians… we are to be "ambassadors for Christ" and we are children of the King of Kings… which would in my book make us Princesses… should we not dress the part ??? At least some of the time ???
I joined! Excited to be apart of this. Oh, and I love the city denim skirt!
I shared the link on facebook! I think this is a great challenge for many :) & for day 2 I was dressed by 8!!!

Sarah Mae, I so enjoy all your modevotionals! You do have a way with words. I am already seeing an improvement in my productivity..getting dressed does make a difference(I stepped up from sweats to jeans yesterday… which is a biggy for me!) And, today we get to play with make-up!!! I'm a girl from the 60's so that is one of my favorite things to do, even tho I am in the season of less being more it is going to be fun :)) Have a great day and thanks for being such an encourager to all of us.
I'm in, I try to get dressed right off the bat when I wake up, and I do feel more energetic and ready to get down to business when I'm dressed for the day!! Love your sight and comments Sarah Mae. Thanks for your encouragement.

Either the pearl ring or the silver flower vine! I love them both. By the way, I'm a brand-new follower, an almost-one-year wife, and a soon-to-be mom. =)
