My first attempt at vlogging was pretty average. I was amazed at how much it improved by just adding some royalty free music. It is pretty affordable and you can use it over and over. I got it at http://www.royaltyfreemusiclibrary.com but there are lots of places online. Just google royalty free music.

My tips (and this goes for all types of videos):

Speak up! Make sure the final audio volume (amplitude) is at a reasonable level, and steady throughout the entire production (that means no big peaks and valleys).

Secondly, please make sure your final production size conforms to a standard 4×3 or 16×9 aspect ratio (width/height). I can't say enough time how often people mess this up and don't think it's a big deal. It is. If a clip within the segment isn't the same size as the final size, transcode it to a new version that's letterboxed.

Thank you for your words of experience. I'm about to start vlogging and keep procrastinating. I always cringe at having photos taken,and putting an actual video on the web is-well- intimidating.
