The "Get Dressed!" Challenge LINK-UP!!!!!!!

Wow, this week went really fast!

I have loved this “Get Dressed!” challenge, but I have a confession…
My sister and nieces have been here all week, so it was much easier to complete this challenge.

None-the-less, I still normally would have just slapped my hair up in a pony tail and called it a day! I not only got dressed (closer to 8:30am most days by the way), I got my hair done, learned how to do a rockin’ eye-shadow, and wore more skirts – which I love!

I am committing (with your help and accountability) to keep on gettin’ up and gettin’ dressed all pretty bright and early (bright and early being subjective of course!).
So, how did you all do? Did you complete the challenge? Have an off day? What were the results? I want to know all about it! Link up your post here with your “Get Dressed!” experience!
(The winner of the DownEast Basics giveaway is… Congrats!)

Yep, I’m still telling you about this book! Hopefully I will have read it by the time this weekend is over! (Ad)

You're looking like a hot babe. Way to go!

Thanks Wendy! Whenever my sister is in town we get all glamified together! :)
OK, couple things.
First, this is an awesome challenge! This is something I learned to do when I started using Flylady's method. I even put on my lace up shoes and it seriously keeps me moving. When I take them off at night, my whole body relaxes. It knows its work is done. :)
Second, and completely off topic…I see you are advertising Titus2.com….I just got their materials a couple months ago and am literally in the middle of trying to implement our new schedule.
Have you tried it out? I confess, I'm really struggling. I have so many littles, it's hard to keep them all "happy". Any suggestions? HUGS and MiSS YOU!!
Christin – I only got their materials a few weeks ago (after reading that YOU had!), so I have yet to fully implement it all – I'll keepyou posted on my journey though!
I had the best of intentions. However, the in between stage of growing out my hair and the 20 lbs which I have to lose got the best of me. I did get dressed. I did do my make up. And I did do my hair. I just don't have any worthy pictures to show….and after seeing Joy's link up…my goodness she's a cutie! It will be fun to look at everyone else's week :)
So sad I didn't win the giveaway. As soon as I lose some of this 20lbs. I have my eye on what I want to order from them!!

Um, love your skirts. Where did you get them?
.-= Kelly´s last blog post … Happy Easter! =-.
Kelly – the white skirt with all the fun was, I believe, a JC Penny purchase last summer, and the pink skirt, Goodwill baby! :)
I'm going to leave my update here in a comment, because I don't think a "I got dressed" post would work well on Impress Your Kids – because honestly, they weren't that impressed! ;) I know I could tie it in, though, because I was so much more on top of things than normal… Our mornings were off to a better start each day, all because I got dressed! The only day I didn't get dressed before 8 was on Monday, and that's honestly because I forgot about it until I read your post on Monday… after 8! And hubby hasn't said anything yet, but I'm not sure he will. Just knowing that I am doing this for him, for me, for the whole family is enough, though.
Thanks for doing this! I needed the motivation!
Sarah Mae though I haven't blogged about it I did do the get dressed challenge and I got dressed daily. It wasn't that I did not get dressed normally it's just that it was done a little later.

You do look great, Sarah, and it sounds like you had a terrific time with your sister and nieces(which is always great motivation!)Thanks for this challenge. I've enjoyed it and it's made me think about a lot of things this week. I am definitely going to keep going with it too :)

Sarah…in my link i forgot to say that everything is in spanish. So I need to say here that mu challenge went not too succesful in a certain way (got it 3 of 5 days) but it was succesful in other great ways: feel encourage to continue doing it and happy to receive your help and inspiration.
Photo will be in the post when my hubby arrives 'cause he has the only camera in this house in his cell!
Love,
Tania ;)

Tania – Google chome actually translates your posts to me – it's awesome! :)
I will link up once I get ready for today:) But I had to comment and say I'm just a bit jealous of most of y'all(yes, I grew up in VA) being able to wear summer clothes…skirts and capris…man I miss those! I plan on wearing a skirt today but it's still COLD(in the 30's all day) outside so if we leave I may change. My dressing up has just been in jeans, since that's all I own and really ever wear:)

Sarah Mae, that's too funny! :) I really love the materials and know they will be beneficial. I just need to keep at it!
I did have a thought come to mind, though. I thought about working with one child at a time through their schedule until it's familiar for them. My eldest will be the easiest and quickest, so if I get her settled with it first, I can then work with my little ones and their schedule. We'll see how it goes!
I can also begin by implementing it in sections at a time (for example, only work through the morning and have a more relaxed afternoon until the morning schedule becomes more automatic. That kind of thing).
Anyhoo, would love to keep in touch via email if you're up for it. Maybe we can bounce ideas off one another – and encouragement, as I know we need it! Love you girl!
Christin – what great ideas! Yes, let's please keep in touch and bounce ideas!
I did not do very hot. I was all gung ho Monday morning and then my little dog died that evening, so I was torn up for that evening, and then I had to pick up her body from the vet's Tuesday morning and bury her, so I still wasn't feeling very hip to the jive. I made it 3 out of 5 days but only took pics on Monday.
Is it still on for next week? I will do much better. I promise.

Alisha – It's on for always. ;)
I can't email you back; can't find your email address. Thank you though. And can I say I love your skirts – where are they from?

S club – my email is sarahmae (at) likeawarmcupofcoffee (dot) com. I get skirts from all over, DownEast Basics, JCPenny, and Goodwill! :)
We women are so emotional – funny how just looking good makes you FEEL good, which puts you in a good mood! Your day goes better, you handle things more easily. At least that was the case for me. All because I 'got dressed'!? I don't think I did it by eight, but I did do it, which was a first for me. Hair, not so much. Mine is long, and I can't stand it on my neck, so about the only thing I can do with it is put it up somehow. (On a different note, I have discovered that having it in a bun and clipped tends to pull my hair out! so I've just started to let it hang with a scrunchy holding it together). This week has been a very good week. I even got a compliment from hubby. you know, they SAY you look great, no matter what you look like, but when you 'get dressed', they look at you differently. And I LIKE it! :) Thank you for this!

Wow! What a beautiful group of readers you have Sarah Mae – this was fun!!!
I have to mention that I do the Maxwell's chore pack system – and I don't do their schedule the way they do – but I LOVE a schedule.
You can see my chore pack system (copied off the Duggars who follow the Maxwell's – and I have read their book since then – borrowed from a friend :-) here:

I had the best of intentions. I never really intended to take pics because I knew our mornings were going to be hectic enough without me trying to get the perfect picture (meaning it didn't show too much flab). But, even then, Monday afternoon Kiddo and I were involved in a car accident. I say "involved" because we didn't HAVE one, it happened TO us. Bleh. We're fine, just sore. Needless to say I didn't much want to get out of bed the next few days, much less get dressed! : ) Kudos to all the ladies who did it!

I super love this challenge! I didn't participate and link up this week because it was a different kind of week, but I'm inspired! My week is different than most because my husband and I got to go out of town on a getaway. So, I was not about to commit to being dressed by 8! Haha.
I find this challenge half way through, but I've enjoyed reading your daily posts on the topic. I hope you plan to do this again soon, as the encouragement of others in this area is something I need! :-)

Sarah, this is such a great challenge. I hope to participate next Monday. God bless.

So do you do this every week? I'm interested, but I'll tell ya right now, it won't be by 8am or every day! Considering I NEVER get dressed really. I need baby steps! Such a good idea though!
.-= christine´s last blog post … I Forgot Something Important to Tell Everyone! =-.
OHHH…so YOU are the originator of this! I saw tweets about this and have been trying to play along. Used to be really good at this after my twins were born and after #3, had slacked off. My biggest fear is the mailman will stop by or a friend unexpectedly and I'll have ratty hair and be in some crazy pj pants.
If I DON'T get up and get moving and dressed for the day early – I feel like half my day is gone and I'm a lot less productive. On days I am home, my home is my office and so I really do like to get up and get "dressed" for work. Even if all I do for work that day is swing on the swingset and clean dishes.
Thanks for the motivation.

I wish I had found this sooner! I TOTALLY need to work on it…being a writer, blogger and SAHM means I don't get dressed nearly as much as I should! ah ha ha
