Pssst…

Are you in sweats?  Comfy pants, perhaps? How’s your hair lookin?

If you are anything like me, getting dressed in the morning doesn’t always happen…um, yea (ahem).

I want to conquer the beast of frump, and you know I don’t want to do it alone.  Starting Monday, I am challenging you (and myself) to get up and get dressed by 8am - and I don’t just mean jeans and a sweatshirt!  Jeans, fine, but put on a nice shirt, some mascara, and for the love, do your hair!

Your husband will love it.

*Update* We’ll do a link up of everyone joining the challenge, and then on Friday we’ll link up the pics of us from each day.

Listen, comfy pants are the greatest, but let’s fight the frump when it comes to being Household Engineers – let’s look lovely for our husbands, our children, and ourselves.  I have a feeling we may even be just a wee bit more productive.

Add your name and blog to the Linky list so we know who you are!  Make sure to link back here so others can join in the fun!

I may be a day behind in this but what a great idea. I really do need to get my butt up and get dressed. I won't promise the hair because I don't know how to do my hair other than a ponytail…but I can get dressed & slap some make-up on for myself and my family. :D

Oh this is great. I always get dressed every morning. Honestly I don’t feel myself it not. But I’m not a mother just yet so does this still apply? I work from home though.
    .-= Jessica´s last blog post … My 150th post! =-.

  4. Super great idea – I always said one of the benefits about working from home is not getting dressed up but you know what – I have become so complacent – stop doing my hair, makeup, and my clothes selection has become awful… Sweats and stretchy pants have become the norm…. So I believe I was directed to this post – on purpose – call divine intervention..
thank you! Starting tomorrow- I’m going to try…

    Love to you

Sometimes I sleep until 8am. I get up with my husband at 5am to make his lunch and spend a few minutes with him before he leaves for the day, then I head back to bed so I won’t be too tired during the day.

    I’m up for a challenge ;)

  10. So glad I was dressed when I read you post! Seriously, good words of advise. Putting on clothes that are pulled together, make up, etc. really does make a difference. I actually think some of the lack of civility today is related to how we dress. And if we are also first putting on Christ, I want my outward appearance to reflect in a positive manner whose I am.

Because yes, I am sitting here in yoga pants & a tshirt, braless. However, today I have a valid excuse (had a biopsy yesterday and cannot wash that area yet.) Although I guess I could put on real clothes…LOL!

I'm 4 mths late for the challenge, I have a current total lack of anything to get dressed in , my closet is a mess, but am up for the challenge. I will spend the weekend reorganizing my closet, maybe do a little shopping and Monday morning I will be dressed by 8:00am.

Love it! Not only for me, but I think my kids feel better & behave better too when I take a bit of time to help them dress & do their hair! (since we homeschool, pj’s are tempting to them) And I’m sure it’s nicer for my husband to see us ready to face the day…
