Soon and Very Soon

“Soon and very soon my king is coming…”

Some days I wish I could bleed out my sin DNA.

I used to blame my mom for what lurks inside, but I realize, it is not her; it is the DNA of my ancient mother, Eve.  Her DNA, her blood, runs infested through my veins.

“…when I see Him I shall be made like Him…”

While I cannot empty my blood inheritance, I can look to the One who has emptied His.  God blood.  Holy blood.  Spilled. For me.

“…then my sin erased, my shame forgotten…”

On those days when the voice sounds so much like my own, condemning, lying, I can choose to remember the hope blood.  The promise of a new day when pure is restored and life fills veins again.  A new rising.

“…I will be with the One I love, with unveiled face I’ll see Him, then my soul will be satisfied, soon and very soon.”

Unveiled. He sees me.  I am good enough.  Not because of anything I do, but because the skin that covers the blood, and the spirit that inhabits the frame, is of Him…image.  Unfathomable.  The depth of love…

“Though I have not seen Him, my heart knows Him well, Jesus Christ the Lamb, the Lord of heaven.”

Oh dirt clean heart, it does love Him.  It thanks Him.  Multitudes of bended knee thanks for cross and third day rising.

All quotations from the song, “Soon.” My favorite version is found on Adie Camp’s CD Just You and Me

I’m just so excited to lay my eyes on my precious Jesus! To dance with Him, sing with Him, walk with Him, speak with Him… I can do these things in the spirit with Him now but to actually be face to face and be made perfect in Heaven… oh what an incredible day that will be.
