For Those Who Read My Joyce Meyer Post

judgement

The post is gone…deleted.

I still  hold to the truth of scripture, but I know there are judgments in my heart I need to have God search out.

So, if you go looking for it, you won’t find it.  :)

(“But Sarah, why did you delete it?” I felt convicted to take it down…so I did.)

20 Coffee Talks on “For Those Who Read My Joyce Meyer Post”

  1. I agreed with your position because I believe that it's 100% Biblically based.

Your tender heart to the Holy Spirit is precious. If we were all more tender to His promptings, we would bring so much more glory and honor to Christ.

    Blessings!

Thank you for your honesty and ear to the Spirit's voice. I agree with your position, however I know in my heart I often get so "dogmatic" that I forget that it is a doctrine I am attacking rather than a person. I commend you for following your convictions.

Southern Gal – hey friend, I got your email and will respond soon! :)

  4. If it makes you feel any better – I wrote a blog once about how Kate Gosselin disrespects John – it was when they first anounced their divorce – needless to say the comments got ugly. I ended up deleting 3 of the paragraphs but leaving the post – you can see the post and comments here:

    …So I've been there…

James 3:2 says "We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man able to keep his whole body in check."

James says – Even those who point the finger have failed in this area – we all do. It's your sensitivity to the Spirit that reveals your intimacy with Christ – beautiful!

I read the post when it first went live; I have many thoughts about it. The topic is a tender one. And I wanted to measure my words. But now, now I want to lavish them on you and say how your single act of taking that post down is a far greater witness than the post itself could have been. It speaks to the humility and teach-ability that I think characterizes what I aspire to in my own womanhood. The willingness to hear the Spirit above anyone else.

That is a beautiful thing, Sarah Mae.

    Beautiful.

    Like you.

  8. Sarah Mae, I'm amazed at how responsive to the HS you are!

This is what I call leadership.

I did read the Joyce Meyer post — and glad I did — so that I can be encouraged by your "post" today.

Keep pouring your faith brews… in more ways than one.

Sarah Mae – I think that taking it down from conviction is a good reason to delete it. I’m glad you didn’t do it for any other reason.

  11. Angela says:

Wow, I didn't read it. I have several of her books that I got to review, but have been sort of "intimidated" if you will, to read or post anything. I don't know much about her, but I realize that many people love and follow her.

I decided not to read or post because from what I understand (and this is only from my understanding) she seems to be a "Preacher/Pastor." I do believe in women "teachers," but I don't agree w/women Pastors and feel that, that stand puts women over the "authority" of men, which goes against my Biblical beliefs.

I have a cousin, on the other hand who doesn't see my point of view, so we lovingly agree to disagree. From what I've glanced through a lot of the books was Biblical based, but I have that particular conviction. So anyway, just thought I would share that, being that I too had a certain conviction about posting as well.

    Blessings.

I appreciated your original post in that I agreed with how you felt, and I think you said it very wisely and with strength and grace. It was actually my 2nd day to read your blog!
But, I respect you even more now for deleting it. It shows that you recognize your place/calling of leadership and you do not want to cause others to stumble by your words.
*I think it shows you want Christ to stay the focus of your blog, and not let anyone distract from that, and THAT is a beautiful gift you give to all of us readers!

  13. Lorri Miller says:

I treasured your original post Sarah Mae and I cherish this one as well. Your sensitivity to your sisters and the Holy Spirit is a wonderful thing to see lived out.

  14. Grace says:

If your heart felt judgmental, you did not share that in your post. It was a simple truth you wrote but your feelings did not come across as critical. Thank you for your honesty. Obviously, the Lord was talking with you and you obeyed by this post.

  15. Jessica says:

Thank you for following the leading of the Holy Spirit. That is a wonderful example.

  16. Christine says:

I respect you very much for being able to hear God's voice calling to obedience. I do have a couple of Joyce Meyer books and I feel that she is a great teacher. I do believe that women should not preach or be in a pastoral role above a man. One of Joyce's books called "The Confident Woman" did help me and encouraged me during a time in my life. Also I am a big Beth Moore fan and believe God has blessed her with the power of words and teaching. I have many of her books, I have done a couple of her studies and I have heard her speak a few times. Unlike Joyce, Beth is a writer and a teacher. I heard once where Beth Moore asks her husband before any and all speaking engagements and she kneels and gets on her face when she prays before she speaks. She did that when she spoke at the Passion Conferences. I do not know what your views on Beth Moore may be but with Joyce Meyer, I do like what she teaches but not in the way that she does in the pastoral role. Even though God is blessing her ministry I do believe that what the bible says is 100% God Breathed.

Thank you for your humility in seeking Gods will about whether to take it down or not. I too say and do things that are judgmental or criticizing another without thinking and praying about it first and remembering that I am not here to Judge anyone and that I should not judge anyone.

    God Bless you Girl

I did not read your post Sarah Mae so I don't know what you shared. Upon reading all of these comments though I wonder if any of these have been to a Joyce Meyer conference? She is under the authority of her husband as well as her Pastor, but most importantly the Lord Himself! Yes, she teaches and preaches and I have seen her numerous times and been amazed at her humility as well as her anointing to teach the Word and longs to help those see the Love of Christ and walk with HIM!

I had to do that with a conversation that got out of hand on my facebook…. regarding a different controversial topic.

Even though I agree with you 100%, it is always important to be obedient to what the Holy Spirit is telling us.

    Good for you!
