WONDERFUL SARAH MAE,
I THINK IT'S TIME THAT WE REALIZE JUST WHAT REALLY IS
IMPORTANT LIKE THE BEAUTY OF BEING A HOMEMAKER [WITH GREAT DIGNITY} I SIMPLY AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN A WOMAN PUTTING PRIORITIES IN PLACE.
I WAS A SINGLE MOM, FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND I HAD TO WORK TO SUPPORT MY DAUGHTER, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.
I NOW AM A HOMEMAKER AND VERY CONTENT, I PUT MY ENERGIES TOWARDS MY CHRISTIAN WALK, MY FAMILY, MY HOME.
I SO LOVE THIS ARTICLE, IT IS SO WONDERFUL, THANKS, SARAH MAE

this is a great excerpt. thank you for sharing. i stumbled upon your site today and it was fun finding this. i don't have kids yet but my mother sure raised me as her homemaking intern! ha! there is always room for improvement with me and i see things that i learned {by watching my parents} that i don't want to repeat. but for the most part i'm thankful she pulled me in as her intern. i wouldn't be who i am today without her love, guidance, encouragement and faith.

This article really hits home with me. I have been praying and receiving God's help on becoming a better housewife and mother.

I believe if I would have been raised to understand this roll better my first marriage would not have ended in divorce. My current marriage has had it's ups and downs but over the last year since I've been focusing (and praying) more on my home and husband I can really see a HUGE improvement in our family relationships.

As I continue, my plan is to include my 2 girls and teach them so many of these things I was never taught. Thank you for this timely article.

You find the COOLEST stuff, Sarah Mae! Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to print it so I can really read it today. My 4 year old is itching to do more with me, and although I can remember cleaning house with my mom it was so long ago. Learning it is one thing - teaching it (for me at least) is another. I love all this coaching!!!

I never thought of it in quite that way, but it is a good way to look at it. I'm trying to teach not just the daily tasks, but the overall management things too. (like planning, organizing, budgeting.) I could cook and do laundry when I was married, but I didn't know how to do many other things. I've learned along the way, but I want to equip my daughter to do those things. Also I want my sons to learn most of the same things, too. They may be single and need to have some of those skills themselves. If they are married, it will be a help to their wives if they can help when needed.

Love this article! Thank you so much for addressing this issue. I felt so lost after leaving a career and coming home to raise our daughter and take care of the home. I couldn't believe how unprepared I was. It's my deepest desire to train my daughter in how to run a home. I know I need to work on showing her it really is a joy, even when I am struggling with the day to day chores that can get tedious at times. Thanks again Sarah Mae- you rock!

Not that I have the market on how to raise kids, but I love it that this is a topic. I get so tired of moms who's kids don't do ANYTHING around the house. "It's easier if I just do it, I have redo it anyways..." blah, blah, blah! I want to scream "are you kidding me?"...
Maybe they were convinced this would be easy and are still upset about the fact that it is not!
When I do things around the house,my daughters are right behind me. I have a 3 year old that keeps a tidy room...she knows how to mess it up with the best of them, but can go in and fix it without me following behind me. It took FOREVER to get her to this point,me going in and showing her how to sort and pick up and put things away! but it is so worth it, now I have a 16 month old "in training" and I am remembering all over again how hard it is! Especially since this one is NOTHIGN like me and does not care if things are straight (unlike my slightly ocd 3 year old..lol) anyways, I am just babbling now, can you tell I have had not adult interaction today.... thanks for the post, can't wait to read more....
