Please, Please, Pretty Please (A Possible Link Up?)
December 4th, 2009

One of the greatest things we can instill in our children is how to help and bless the poor, the downcast, the rejected, the orphans, the widows.
(I moved the rest of this post here.)
I wonder how many donations we could get if we all teamed up and wrote one post on our blogs with our favorite gifts of love and a link to Samaritan’s Purse? What do you think? Should we do it? Maybe we could even have a link-up of all our posts. Just imagine the impact!
Oh, and if you purchase a gift by Sunday at 9pm EST, you have 10 extra entries into this Sondra Roberts purse giveaway (retail value $107).
Share your thoughts, would you please?

Love this idea, Sarah Mae – my family was thinking about doing this already, so it would be lovely!

Thank you for posting this. I have a little money stashed away fro charity this year, and I haven’t decided where to send it. This looks like a very viable possibility :) Thanks Sarah Mae!

I love this I idea! My kids always start the holiday season off with filling a shoebox for Samaritan’s Purse. It feels so good to think they want to help someone else. But by this time, they are being swarmed with questions of what they want for Christmas. Its all about them again. I have the Samaritans Purse catalog right here and I think it is a fabulous idea to sit down with them and maybe ask them to swap one of their gifts for a gift for someone else. I’d link up!

I love this idea Sarah Mae. Plus, I think this would be a great alternative Christmas gift for family members. A chance to help someone in need.

Sarah,
I just happened to click on this post when my daughter was on my lap. We went to the website and watched one of the videos about the children receiving a meal (by this time, my son had joined us). On their own, they decided to buy a gift! My 8-year-old boy is buying a week’s worth of meals and my 6-year-old girl chose a little lamb stuffed animal.
I’ll write a blog post about it later, after I can stop tearing up so much!
Thanks for doing this!
Kristy
Definitely worth looking into. I always forget about Samaritan’s Purse. Thanks for the reminder. :)
Thank you for starting this chain and for reminding us all of those less fortunate then ourselves.

I don’t very much about Samaritan’s Purse but if you wrote up a post w/ you mission I would post it to my blog and link it to your site (maybe the purse giveaway post?) – the giveaway would be incentive for people to get involved. What do you think? oh- and I could throw in a giveaway as well.

I would definitely participate in the link up! Could I just proviode my existing post??
great idea!
Ended up not purchasing a goat afternoon (that was from another donation catalog the kids were looking at) but just purchased chicks, a “Jesus Loves Me” lamb, and a hive of bees (all from the kid’s own savings, with a little help from Mom) from Samaritan’s purse. Heading over to InfertilityMom.blogspot.com to do a blog link up now. :)

Sarah Mae, after hearing about Franklin Graham’s 1.2 million salary package from Samaritan’s Purse and BGEA six weeks ago…while they were laying other people off …I cannot in good faith send money to Samaritan’s Purse. Send a box, yes, but no money.
Do the research. I think you will come to the same conclusion.
What a wonderful way to show God’s love my friend.
You have such a great heart. Samaritan’s Purse does so much and is such a great organization!
Big hugs

Katie, you must stick with your convictions, I completely understand. For me, knowing that 90% of my dollar goes directly to cause is good enough for me.
