“Your readers could also go to Bluebehemoth.com and download the same sermons onto their computer in a blink of an eye and save on shipping costs. I like to do that and put the sermons on my ipod and listen throughout the day. Their ministry has blessed us abundantly as well–the first sermon I ever heard was ‘When Fathers Roamed the Earth’. It was excellent and I was hooked from then on!”
I am not affiliated with Vision Forum and am not receiving compensation from them, I only put the prices so that you can see how affordable they are.
My husband and I have been so blessed to have heard these sound biblical teachings, and we have been pushed and challenged in such wonderful ways to grow deeper in our faith, stronger in our family, and richer in our marriage.
There have been a few defining moments in my life in the way of following Jesus. One of them was hearing contemporary Christian music for the first time in 8th grade (didn’t know it existed) and wanting what the singer was singing about; the second defining moment in my Christian journey was being a part of an on-campus minsitry group called the Navigators; the third was studying the foundational bible study, Five Aspects of Woman; the fourth was listening to Hell’s Best Kept Secret; and the fifth was being introduced to Vision Forum and listening to the clear and biblical teaching of Doug Phillips.
I know that some out there take issue with Mr. Phillips (I was one of them before I actually listened to him speak several times). I have been greatly encouraged by his ministry, and I have watched my husband change – from a godly man into a godly man with a great vision for our family. He feels like he has purpose, and he is excited (and I am excited to support him!). These teachings basically supplemented what we observed in the Brookshire home. We have come to realize just how important the family unit is, and through a strong family unit, how the world can be changed for the good.
Well, that’s it. Just wanted to share with you. :)
Oh wait, the winner of the Smart Mom Jewelry…Congrats to…

Could you also list some of the messages that were the most inspiring for your husband? Thank you.
Beth, the biggest impact on my husband was spending a weekend with Brookshires (I’ll link them in my blog). Next to that, he said The Centrality of the Home and The History of the Modern Sunday School Movement because they put everything in perspective for him. :)
Hi Sarah Mae,
Your readers could also go to Behemoth.com and download the same sermons onto their computer in a blink of an eye and save on shipping costs. I like to do that and put the sermons on my ipod and listen throughout the day. Their ministry has blessed up abundantly as well–the first sermon I ever heard was ‘When Fathers Roamed the Earth’. It was excellent and I was hooked from then on!
Many blessings…

Sarah Mae,
I have to say that Vision Forum has been an instigator of change for our household too! I have been subscribing to Podcasts that Voddie Baucham has done and it has changed our family in big and small ways.
Thanks for posting these links. I have purchased things in the past from Vision Forum and now I have new things to add to my wishlist.
Deanna Riccardelli´s last blog post … Do you love the library as much as me?
Big fan of Vision Forum here too:)
Thanks for sharing this on your blog!

I really enjoyed my introduction to this ministry (you had some great sermons to share!), and I will definitely look into downloading some for my husband and I!! :)
Muthering Heights´s last blog post … The Dangerous Side Of Dora
One of the most life-changing talks that we heard Doug Phillips give was on the role of children in the church. It literally stopped us in our tracks! I definitely think it has played a huge role in our daughters lives. 11 years ago we received their first Beautiful Girlhood catalog and we were hooked. After a couple of years they combined everything into one wonderful catalog. We are soooo looking forward to seeing their new catalog this fall. :)
We have been challenged and blessed many times over the years with their products and resources!
Thank you for sharing what the Lord is doing in your family. It is so encouraging!
Love,
Robin
p.s. maybe we should both start a bed and breakfast. :)
Robin´s last blog post … An Amazing Adventure!
Oh I LOVED Voddie Baucham’s message on the Centrality of the Home!!! FANTASTIC!!! Every Christian family should own a copy of that CD!
Thanks for suggesting the others! I’ll check them out pronto!
Do you agree with everything Vision Forum teaches? I’m all for family values, but they seem to take the family and make it the centerpiece of the Christian faith.
Nurse Bee – I don’t know if I agree with everything they teach because I haven’t heard everything they teach, and besides that, only God has cornered the market on truth. However, from what I have heard, I agree with. And I do believe that the family, at its core, is the centerpiece of the Christian faith, because from it flows everything. :)
While I am sure they have good intentions, I think Vision Forum is a little over-zealous in their promotion of family life.
I am disturbed by their discouraging higher education, particularly for women (unless it is the college courses they offer).
