Somehow we call them Petunia Protectors and do a modesty check before running out the door. Every now and then we get somewhere and one will say I forgot petunias… Then they say, I will be careful to sit properly! We like Monkey Bar buddies and bike shorts too!

i have found in the summertime when my girls love to wear dresses and the dirt…the shirts with the shorts sewn in work the best.

I am constantly surprised and dismayed by how many mothers don't do this for their little girls. My sister and I used to wear those bicycle shorts under our skirts until we were teenagers, and you know, now I like to wear leggings (I wear long, long skirts and live where it gets bitterly cold.) This is also helpful when you're bending over, struggling to get your baby out of the backseat and the wind comes whipping down the parking lot, tugging your skirt up, up, and away. :) .-= BlueCastle´s last blog post ... I have done this off and on with my daughter and once again thought…hmmmm we should go back to the short thing!! Thanks for the reminder!! Her new habit is nervously lifting her dress, night gown up and biting it in a shy manner!! What? It makes me nuts!!

With the colder months coming up, wearing jeans under your dress is another option. And when they grow and the dress is too short, jeans help with that, too! It's actually a fad to do so as well if you are a fashion-conscious sort of gal.

i am a preschool teacher and part of my orientation is asking all the moms with daughters to make sure they wear shorts under their dresses.
